    Hello,

Can anybody tell me if it's possible to change the uj-811 (dvd combo panasonic/matshita) without any problems for the uj-850 (dvd combo panasonic/matshita) in the Acer Aspire 1705 Smi.

For an unknown reason Acer doesn't want to tell me if this is possible. Very strange. What I know is that the Sci version has the uj-850 version on board.

    who can help me out?

thanks in advance and greetz from the NETHERLANDS

    Rorede

Normally there should not be any problems. Make sure however that they have exactly the same dimensions so that you will not face any problems physically inserting the new drive in the laptop.
