I'm looking for a cpu upgrade for a Acer Extensa 4220. Its using the intel celeron processor 530. 1.73ghz, 533 mhz FSB. Far as i'm aware it's the P model of processor for this type. Any help appreciated.

P? I'm pretty sure that model of Extensa is an M socket. The Celeron 530 never came in P as it is a Merom socket.

The best CPU you could put in that would be a Core 2 Duo T7600/T7600G clocked at 2.3ghz. Check out this guide too http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...intel-gl960-gl40-useful-info-pll-modders.html

Haha.. Saw you went on Tom's Hardware for help. Never, ever go on there. They will never help you. They will always tell you the same thing over, and over again (You cannot upgrade it because it's a laptop! XDDDD)

EDIT: Oh, and if it is a socket P, the best you could do is a Core 2 Duo T7800 clocked at 2.6ghz. Should give it a massive kick in performance. There has been several reports of dual core intel's working in the GL960 chipset. It may work for you, and if I was you, I'd take the risk seeing as it would be a massive performance boost. You'd probably be able to load a webpage without it lagging!
