I'm slightly new to working with laptops so i hope you're patient with my possible lack of knowledge.

I'm currently running a Acer 5672 with the following:
    T2300 (1.66 Ghz duo core)
    500GB WD 5400rpm
    2GB Ram
    everything else standard

I do mostly photo editing with photoshop on my laptop and am looking to reduce lag and increase rendering speed.

When looking at upgrading the two most appealing chips are the t2700 (2.33 ghz 2MB cache) or the t7400 (2.16 ghz 4MB cache) with the t2700 being slightly more expensive.

The question is which chip makes the most sense here? How much a difference does 4mb vs 2mb make? Is it enough that performance would be close? are there some other benefits to going with one over the other?

Right now i really see the t2700 as being cooler running, requiring less power, and in my mind seems slightly more easily installed since i haven't flashed my bios yet and wouldn't need to if i didn't go to a t7400. It is slightly more expensive but is what i think i'm leaning toward at the moment. What do you guys think?

also what is the spec code for the t2500. Was thinking if i felt like saving some money then this would be a decent option.
