    Hey there barbican.

    Laptop batteries tend to be measured in mah (mili-amp-hour) or amp-hour. The voltage is important too (which gives Wh (wat hour)). This is because depending on your configuration or machine it is in then the same battery would give a different battery life.

    Eg:

    Your battery = 4400mah @ 11.1v
    Replacement = 4400mah @ 14.8v
    or
    Replacement = 5688mah @ 11.1v

    Both replacements would give the same boost of 33%. Your laptop will say what input is the max on the bottom, likely in the region of 19v.

    Your machine probably shipped with the 4400mah battery. A quick look on ebay and it looks like there are 8800mah batteries for your machine (at the same 11.1v) which should give you around twice the battery life.

    They are unlikely to be acer originals, try and go with a seller with lots of positive feedback, if possible a local seller rather than from china or taiwan.

    o.i.c so is there no bad effect to my laptop if im using the difference batt. actually my laptop problem is the mobo, when using the adapter the computer will not turn on, but if im put on the batt then it will on. it will on just for a while arround 30 minutes i guess, then it will turn off itself until i charge the laptop about 1 hour then the batt full again and i can continue my work. do you have any idea for this problem? the dealer said it was about the mobo problem.

    anyway, thanks for the information dude.

    He is probably right, sounds like some of the power circuitry is gone. The battery charger usually has its own circuit on the side. Amazing that its not just fused the entire power circuit but just shut down one function.

    I think your stuck with changing the motherboard. Can you find a repair shop that may have a reconditioned one?
