Was wondering if I should install directx on my aspire 3000. I would like to play some games that are a few years old. I'm not really sure what directx is/does so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

It should have been installed as default in Win XP. Goto Start->Run->type dxdiag. Hit enter. It should display the DX version installed on the laptop.
