Hi.
I looked on acerdirect.co.uk
And i cannot find an 5920 with an 8600M GT
they are all GS or INTEL X3100.
below is a question asked by a prospective buyer, dated 27-Nov-2007
Grant: Hi! (1) From what I can make out, only difference between LX.AN60X.001 and LX.AN60X.041 is that it has Draft N and the other does not. All other specs are identical, not so? (2) Is Acer planning on releasing a 5920 model with 8600M GT graphics, instead of GS any time soon? (3) Including the 256mb dedicated, what is the max memory that can be allocated to GS graphics card, 1Gb? (4) Is a 0.3 m/p webcam, worth much, as far as quality is concerned? (5)Is it possible, for the laptop hdd to come as 1 partition, instead of 2? (6) Is it possible for the full version OS (Vista), software drivers and Office setup files to be copied onto the hdd, instead of just having the restore disks? (7) Are there any in stock and if not how long will it take to order 1? Please, could you get back to me as soon as possible! Thanks for your time!
Easycom: 1 The only difference is the draft N wireless connectivity. 2 There isn't anything on the cards as of yet as to a release with this graphics card. 3 Apart from the 256MB it has the 1GB of turbo cache memory. 4 As far as quality is concerned this will be fine for gerneral internet use eg MSN. 5 Unfortunatley it seems to come with the 2 partitions as standard. 6 The restore data including the operating system is on a hidden partition on the hard drive. 7 The LX.AN60X.041 is currently out of stock however will be backl in stock within the next few days. For our delivery options please see our FAQ page.

John.

Hi.
even acer.co.uk does not mention an 8600M GT in it`s laptop specifications.
it`either 8600M GS or 8600M
So do they not sell 8600M GT anymore?????

Yes, Acer does sell 5920's with 8600GT. In fact, the first gemstones all had 8600GT.

Robin: I'm confused. On the Acer website the Hi model is shown as LX.AN60X.001 (without draftN) and the Hn model is shown as the LX.AN60X.041 (with draftN). So are you sure this is the Hi and do any of the 5920 models now have the GeForce 8600M GT graphics card?
Easycom: The LX.AN60X.041 model does have draft N wireless, unfortunately none of the 5920 models have
Geforce 8600M GT graphics.
So the GREAT ACER 5920 8600M GT, HUNT CONTINUES.

Tinderbox, chances are you won't find the GT model in the UK, unless the laptop is imported from another European country.
I've been experiencing the same frustrating delay for the past month. For hope of a better after-sales service, I've so far wanted to get my laptop from the only Acer authorised service provider in Malta. They get their stock from the UK and so I've been in a standstill as there are no 5920/5920G models with the GT in the UK.
They're checking to see if it's possible to import a model with the GT from another country (e.g. Germany), but they're not sure about the warranty...
In any case, now I'm going to buy it from another retailer here that somehow stocks the GT model. The only downside is that I'll only have a 1 year warranty instead of 2, but that's what you get living in a small country with very few computer stores. -

i'm quite sure that Acer Thailand still sell the 5920G model with 8600M GT that you want but i'm not sure that the model have draft N or not?
-
this is strange as I've bought my 5920G from the very first batch from laptopdiect here in the UK and 8600M GT was a standart on all first models. the only difference was Bluetooth on one model and no-bluetooth but 1GB turbo-memory (my model)

I think the first batch had the GT, so the 5920 recieved better reviews.
Now, they just throw in a GS
shows how much they care.

if it is possible to get 512MB GT in Greece then it definitely is British importers fault. I know the system in Latvia, it is an importers choice, they can configure laptops in quite wide range of options but they come only in big orders, so you can't configure just one specific notebook, the whole bunch of them must be ordered
So they ordered crap and you don't get GT anymore -
Could always try ebay for an 5920-6313 and see if they'll ship to UK..

Just got mine yesterday in Malta (Europe). I managed to find a model with specs better than I was expecting
Got it for ~$2,035.
Aspire 5920G-602G25MN
LX.AKQ0X.072
- Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB, 4MB L2 cache)
- Nvidia 8600M GT 512MB
- 250GB HDD
- Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
- 802.11a/b/g/ Draft-N -
good stuff indeed! mine is 160 HDD and 2.0 GHz and I've had an upgrade to High Def DVD drive for some extra. However 512MB GT8600Gt in your case is likely to be 256MB (with the option to go up to 1Gb) as Acer never had this graphics card on order and in stock.
