I'm pretty sure that since I installed the latest cracked nV driver, my webcam doesn't like to work. it works if I run any IM setup software, but soon as I try to use it, that software locks up. bugs me....

There's nothing 'hacked' or 'cracked' about those drivers. The only thing that's changed is the file that recognizes which cards are supported by the driver.

I strongly doubt any nVidia drivers will cause your webcam to break. Perhaps try a newer/different driver for the webcam ?

I had the same problem and I tried different versions of the Acer Crystal Eye driver. Turns out that the latest SP1 driver from Acer Europe support site worked for mine. All smooth and no lags.

PS: Mine's a Suyin and the driver with the filename CCD_Suyin_v.5.8.31.500_Vista_SP1.zip worked.
