first off all can i just say i am a complete novice at computers, after purchasing said laptop, i have had nothing but trouble with it, first it was the upgrade to windows 7 disc which came with the laptop, then the dvd drive not working, even when i telephoned acer and told them i am sending it to them for them to install windows 7 which i did, came back still dvd drive does not work, will not read any disc, when i go to eject it takes for ever, 9 times out off ten i have to use a pin to poke in the emergency hole on the door.

like i said i no nothing about computers so what i am looking for is a list of drivers for this machine to see if i can solve this on going problem, if not its going in the bin, i would say this laptop has had no more than 100 hours of useage.

please someone help, in easy language please, many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

drivers are available from your local Acer website.
    Example for Acer Germany:

But I am confident, that your problem is not driver related. Complain again.

What you could try: carefully and gently clean the lens of your optical drive. Do not use a "lens cleaner" disc. These are not recommended by manufacturers of optical drives.
