Is there a way to get this program? It didn't come with my 1681 in the recovery discs and I think it would be a neat program to have running on my Acer. Thanks.

Isn't that just an update? You would need the actual program first in the computer before you can update it am I right? I am looking for the actual program first then I guess I can do the update on Acer's website.

It says "updated version", which I would think that means the whole thing. If it says "update" then I would think it would mean only updated files. Download and try it, the worst that could happen is that it won't work.

It is the 'updated version' meaning that it is the full thing.

Yeah I d/l it last night and it works on my laptop. I actually like it gives you more control over power management depending on what you are doing with the laptop.
One thing though, when you are plugged in AC power for ex. it shows processor speed at 100% as the default setting. Does this mean that the processor is working at full clock speed at all times or will the Pentium M processor slow down the clock rate if you are not running anything intensive on your laptop?

All Pentium Ms slow down the CPU when you are not plugged into the wall or doing anything too intensive. That is how they get good battery life. You don't need a fast CPU to do office or surf.

Actually CMan, if the ePowerManagement has the CPU set to Maximum, the CPU frequency will always be at maximum. I suggest adding a new scheme that has all the settings of Maximum Performence but with the CPU setting changed to High. This allows the Pentium M to flucuate between 600 MHz and its maximum frequence as is needed. This reduces wasted clock cycles and minimizes the cooling fan's usage.
A good program to monitor your CPU frequency and temperature (as well as the charge/discharge rate and hard drive temperature) is Mobile Meter. It can be found at:
