    My laptop:
    Aspire 5100

Im having a major crisis! I posted here on the forum to try and find a way to restore my Acer MBR. After a couple of discussions here, i went to the Ubuntu forum to try and delete Grub Loader which replaced my MBR with its own version. I also discussed in the Ubuntu forum, how to delete the Linux partitions. So, later on today, i finally deleted the Linux partitions, but also, not mention my PQSERVICE drives, aswell!!! Luckily, i made a back up of my PQSERVICE, so now i want to copy it back to its original partitions. So, i decided to create a new partition for my PQSERVICE, but i have no idea what type of partition it was.. eg: NTFS, FAT32, ext2, ext3? I think im in hot waters now. When i boot regularly, all i see is a blinking cursur.  The only OS, that works now is the Ubuntu CD, which i have to boot from. HELP!!

it needs the C: to be changed over to NTFS but the PQ is FAT32

Thanks. I put the PQSERVICE as Fat32. And, everything seems about good. :) Im transfering the PQSERVICE data from my usb drive to the new PQSERVICE drive i made. Ok, before i restart will i need anything else? Will it boot normally by just copying the files back like that?

edit: Will my PQSERVICE become hidden like its suppose to, or do i have to do that myself?

If you just copy/paste(it's not like recovery setup process or something), I think you'll need to make the partition hidden manually. I suppose you'll have to rebuild MBR again too, to actually access PQSERVICE(the ALF+F10 option)..

GRUB is linux partition manager and overwrites MBR...so I don't know about that mate  ;)

Ok. Will the PQSERVICE boot under a different name? Or does it have to run specifically on that name? How exactly can i rebuild the original MBR when both my C and D are erased? I have the Acer Mbr Utility, but im kind of lost to where im suppose to set it up. I dont have a command prompt. Can i just copy all the files in the utility and paste it in the, now empty, C: and get it to work?

I think you might have a point. I had the PQSERVICE filesystem before i deleted all the partitions and created new ones, and the Alt + F10 still didnt work. I only got the eRecovery setup to work by accident because it didnt require me to press Alt + F10. It just took me straight there whenever i booted. It was weird.
