After a clean install of Vista without deleting any partitions I cannot install eRecovery software. Does anyone know why this might be?

    Thanks

Were you able to install any of the Acer software? Did it give you an error message? If so, what did it say?

All other "e" Acer Software installed okay. The error message I received was "eRecovery cannot be installed - 6. SoftwareDisc".

Try to redownload the application and install again. Make sure to get the latest version you can find for Vista. The latest I found is Acer eRecovery 2.5.4302 SP1_51.zip. Also, do you really need it? I don't really use it once I made my factory default recovery discs. If you want to make backups, I think you may be better served by something like Acronis True Image.

Downloaded and tried again with no go, your right I really don't need it, just wondering why it wouldn't install.

    Thanks

Also, it is possible to restore your system without disks so long as you don't delete the hidden partition PQSERVICE. Press Alt+F10 when you start your computer on the acer screen and you can do a factory reset from there.
