I created a backup image with Acer's eRecovery utility. It created it on my D drive successfully but when I try to burn it to DVD, it continually fails with an error 1005. I've tried 3 different dvd's from different manufacturers. Ideally, I would like to copy the disk image to an external hard drive but I can't find the image anywhere. I've looked for hidden files, etc. Is there a way to find this file backup.hdd and copy it to an external hard drive? I have an aspire 5004.

    Thanks,

    Bob

i'm not quite sure how you are making an image to a partition... my Erecovery application allows me to make Factory Image directly to CDs and DVDs(since upgrading to a dvd burner)...

the app that is making the image should also do the burning alteast that's my experience.?.

    hope that helps...
