    Hi all,

Hope you can help. A friend's Acer Aspire One Happy with Windows 7 160Gb Hard Drive went south on the O/S partition only, so I thought I may be able to clone the 3 erecovery paritions (sector by sector)+ MBR on to a new, smaller 60Gb Hard drive.

I managed to do so and everything appeared ok. I can even run the erecovery by pressing alt+f10 and it starts up and gets ready to install. However, it won't select the correct partition to install to and there is no option to change it. It keeps trying to install onto the 4Gb partition which is one of the 3 copied partitions.

I have tried various options on the partition where I want to install to. I have left it as unallocated space, and formatted as NTFS, left it as unformatted, but no matter which way I leave that partition erecovery still won't let me use it.

If I get the original duff hard drive and run erecovery on that it automatically chooses the correct partition, but obviously doesn't manage to install because the hard drive has bad sectors.

    Any ideas?
