    Hi guys,
purchased and installed a 1.6ghz tk-42 cpu in my ferrari one netbook, the bios detects it as a 1.6ghz cpu but i cannot get it to run @ 1.6ghz in windows without using 3rd party tools. tried reinstalling windows 64/32bit and it always boots @ 1.2ghz (default cpu clock). Does anyone have any idea how I can sort this out? Possible bios hack etc?

It is driving me insane as I can run without my external graphics card fine @ 1.6ghz, with it the machine crashes constantly.
    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

might want to put the l310 back in. the tk-42 will overheat if you do manage to run it at full speed. heatsink was designed for 13W TDP

    hurray a response!
The TK-42 is a 20W TDP cpu; heat isnt a problem, even under load I am only hitting 60 deg - way below the 'pain threshold' plus (not that it is working at the moment) the cpu supports cool n quiet unlike the l310. As stated above problem is it acts like an l310 ie fixed @1.2ghz and cool n quiet isn't enabled by default

What type of BIOS is it? AMI?

Maybe you should overclock the CPU? Do you know what clock generator is used in that notebook?

think it is phoenix bios, and not sure about the IC, tried OC with RMclock and found it crashed the machine when connected to graphicbooster
