I know windows vista/7 has better built in power management, but is the epower utility worthwhile? should I install it?

I would say wait for other members to chime in, or go ahead, install it and see how long your battery lasts compared to the native powermanager in W7

No not really- no one has noticed any improvement over standard Windows power management. That's unless your ePower management does offer some unique features on your notebook.

There is a service or a process for it and that's about as much as I know about what it does. I assumed it does something but apparently not- according to what other users reported. It works if you have an Eco button- you press it and your computer goes to power-saving mode but that is available only on some notebooks- it seems to be useless for other users.

If anyone knows something I don't- feel free to correct me. I haven’t been very thorough with testing this piece of software.

Windows power profiles are far better than Acer's ePower. I had to disable it because it was randomly turning off my wifi when I would go on battery power. As soon as I disabled it, the problem went away.

I tried to install it 64 bit Windows 7 and it error'd out. I installed 32 bit and everything installed fine. The only issue is the battery indicator always says 10% charging. I figure it's probably the battery.
