In a high light situation, like outdoors or near a window with direct sunlight coming in I find the glossy screen to be a pain. But in a normal indoors environment the glossy screen seems to improve the quality of the display. I should note that the glossy screen tends to show up dirt and fingerprints more than a matte screen.

Every Aspire model has CrystalBrite (glossy) screen!

If you want Acer with matte screen, look for TravelMate and Extensa models.
