    Hello all,
Would appreciate very much any help on the following rather weird problem that suddenly appeared out of the blue.
    I have laptop Acer3660 with XP home. 2 Partions C: and D:
On bootup everything stops at the stage of Windows logo and 3 running dots at the bottom. At the same time front panel WIFI indicator lights up. If I go back to the boot menu (F8) and choose any of the Safe options, blue screen appears with the following message:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drives controllers. Check you hard drive for corruption.
    Technical information ***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF7A93524, 0xC0000034, 0x0000000, 0x00000000)
Tried ACER and Windows Commander rescue disks but none worked. Decided to try the reinstall route (ALT+F10) but work commitments halted everything for a couple of days. When I decided to go ahead with re-installation, boot up completed without any problems!
For almost 2 weeks everything was OK and today the same freaking problem occurred again. And the WIFI light is again on. And the switch is not responding when I try to turn it off. And the weirdest thing is that I didn’t even use WIFI all these time. Is it possible that boot sector virus is trying to communicate via WIFI (indicator is on and cannot be turned off) with it’s “ground control” somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any useful tips as I’m stuck!

something you may want to try is "NTFS for DOS" you can get and iso or run it with a floppy. I've had similar issues and that took care of it. Try it and let us know.
