    I have an Acer 5101 (turion 64 2.0, 512 ram, xpress 1100, 60GB HD) for about a year and a 3 months.

some time ago, i noticed that my laptop heats more than usual, on the left side of the keyboard, whenever i try to do multiple tasks at the same time, or try to play games...

i noticed warcraft 3(and other games) didnt go well, so i tried reinstalling it, but that didnt solved the problem, i tried reinstall graphic drivers, and no good...finally, i reinstalled windows, and tried warcraft again, but the problem was still there: spikes in the game, i couldnt play anything... :(

what could be the cause of the problem?
my friend told me that maybe my CPU or graphic card heats to much, or my cooler dont work well, and thats the cause of the spikes in the games...

    sorry for bad english :S

    Probably dust, dust, dust.

You need to open your lappie and gently remove it by following Chaz guide found here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60914

    Cheers,

when you multi task the ram is pushed to the limit.
1 clean out dust (see link above).
2 get more ram. this will place less stress on the ram you have.
3 get yourself a cooling pad.

if it was me with this problem i would do the clean and then purchase more ram.

Tekun let us know what you do and if you solve your problem.
this forum works better when we get feedback from members

Good luck and welcome to NBR.

    Thanks
    Phil

thx people, ill try first cleaning the dust, and then ill change place for my laptop...
Ive noticed that problems started when i changed place where my laptop usually stood...it was on the table (solid surface), and now its on the chair (soft surface), so it cant cool enough... :)
