    help : hddvd will not play

    Hi.

    I keep getting this error when trying to play the demo disk that came with my acer aspire 9920.

    I have tried option 1 disable aero, but it still will not play.

    I don't have a clue about option 2, I am using the latest graphic driver 174.32

    can anybody help

    Aero has to b enabled? doesn't it? thats what it asking to do...

    Thers a problem similar to this with the Toshiba X200 and 205's

    Its due to the fact that the SLi has to be disabled (on the Toshiba)
    AND you will have to use the stock drivers, as the stock drivers have the display settings for HD DVD.

    Some people with the Toshiba's went ahead with the Driver updates anyway as they did not need to use the HD DVD players and only wanted to play games.

    So yeh... it'd b a driver issue with the 174.32.

    What some people did to overcome this with the Toshiba laptop driver was to replace a line of code in the .ini file of the 174.32. folder with a line of code in the .ini file in the Toshiba stock Drivers folder. and then installed the newer drivers

    Maybe someone can expand on this, or you can try search 'Toshiba X205 HD DVD'
