Hello guys, I really need help.
    I have Acer Aspire 5920G. 2GB DDR2, 160GB HDD
It works just fine until yesterday night, when I boot the notebook, an error occur after POST.

    this is the error :

    67584M system RAM passed
    4096 KB L2 cache
    System Bios Shadowed
    Video Bios shadowed

    Atapi CD-ROM : HC-DT-ST DVD RAM 6SA-T20N

f1 to continue, f2 for setup.
    ================================
So if i press F1, it will boot the windows and works just fine.
If i Press F2 it goes to Bios.

I've searched this forum, and searched google, and couldn't found any reference. Some reference said to update BIOS
And I thought to give it a try, I checked my Bios version is V 1.40 3708.

The latest bios I download from Acer is also 3708.

What should I do? Update my Bios?
I've run memory test, and no error found.
The notebook works just fine, but the error message really disturb me, something is not right..

Please help me. Sorry for the long story.

    Thanks in advance.

It's probably ram fail, some mart of memory is broken in ram module, to check it try some RAM test in DOS mode or remove one module from Your laptop and then check if there is the same error, if not then put module to the same bank and remove the other and tehn check it out.

    Thanks for the reply
    Ram test in DOS mode?
Could you please kindly tell me how to do RAM test in DOS mode?
I only Ran memory diagnostic tools to check.

I don't think I can take the module from my laptop, it's still have guarantee sticker in the back of my laptop.

Welcome , this unit should be under warranty , I suggest you send it in rather then mess with it yourself .

However it might be RAM like suggested , the RAM cover is centered bottom side , take out one stick and try to reboot , if fail again switch sticks and try again . If its RAM one of the sticks should let you post without error .

Use proper porcedure for opening/switching the sticks , preferbly under the guide of Acer support to be "covered" .

to test in dos you need make boot cd of
    of memtester

    http://www.memtest86.com/

use the iso and burn into cd useing burn image in you software if software support or else you need some util that will burn images files

boot you laptop set you cmos to boot off cd

I wound suggest you just phone acer they most like replace the ram if you send it if under warreny if you got at small shop take back it back to them ask they input or ask acer

    memtest is a neat tool.

memtest is also available at the first splash screen on many Linux LiveCD's, so you can run it from there if you have one laying around.

If you run memtest, let it go for a few hours at least. It'll loop through several tests, running small bits of data thru the RAM and looking at the results.

Errors will show up as bright red lines of text. Most of the text won't make any sense to you but that doesn't matter. Ideally, you should be able to run memtest overnite and not get any errors at all.

Form the sounds of it, you would probably get hundreds of errors within minutes of starting memtest.

There is a one program which I believe is the best. I used to use it when I had PC and overclock it a lot. It's name is Goldmemory it boots in dos mode and finds errors better and faster the memtest, You have to know that not all memory errors are coused by memory fail, it can be also CPU fails but it happens only if You OC :)

Wow, thanks for all the reply, I haven't try all. But will try tonight for Memtest/ or using Goldmemory.
Anyway, last nite, I try to flash my BIOS, make backup first.
And voila.. the error is gone..
No beep beep sound or the post message.
The notebook run as fine as usual..

I don't know what happen though, but I'll see if the error will show up again tonight and will post here if it did.
    Thanks a lot guys!!

I agree with Shamtu Gold Memory is good it seem to run thought quicker

It seem memtest86 is more use by company produce ram and more commonly used
