Hello to everyone...
...I am in need of some help please as I am not sure what to do. My acer 5315 has recently started playing up. Here's what the problem is...
...when I turn on the notebook it boots as normal to the start up screen without any issues but when I log on to my user or my fiance for that matter we get the following message...Display driver IGFX has stopped responding but has successfully recovered. I get this message after the screen has been intermittently flashing on/off and sometimes going a bit weird ie blurry etc.
If anyone has any ideas that would be great. So far i have checked the driver is fully working and is up to date which vista states is and have checked out google for info. I saw a link on google saying the driver is out of date and needs updating but vista states otherwise when i attempt to update it.
I haven't made any alterations to the internal components of the notebook apart from a ram upgrade to 2gb. I used a matching pair of corsair ram which had very good reviews.
Any help please as I am at a loss![]()
many thanks

I'd suggest you update the driver directly from Intel. Vista may say it's up to date but this probably isn't true. Download and install the driver from the link below:

thank you for your speedy response ATG
However I have done as you advised but am still having the same problem only this time without the error message appearing....
