i've had great luck in downgrading my os to XP... what kind of problems are you having??

    this site might help....
    http://soulpass.com/2007/11/10/inst...essional-sp2-on-acer-aspire-5315-2153-laptop/

the biggest problem i see most people have reguard the SATA driver not being included in the winXP install disk. i used the SLIPSTREAM method when converting my pc, i would have used the floppy drive method but i have no floppy drive.

i just followed the directions and had ZERO problems...

the one suggestion i would make would be,,,
make sure you have the xp drivers for your laptop downloaded and burned to a cd before you begin. especially if you don't have immediate access to another computer

    goodluck
