    Hello,

Need a bit of help with my laptop and the warranty it has. Basically, i sent my laptop to acer to get repaired under warranty as there was a few problems with it and i got it back on the 24th August. As soon as DHL dropped the laptop off, i opened it up to inspect the laptop and check everything had been repaired, went to turn it on and it wouldnt boot up at all with either the battery or the power cord. No lights would come on, nothing. So i called acer back to tell them this and and they said to send it back to them which i did. They recived the laptop on the 27th August. I called up today to find out the status, and i was told they had sent out a quote...and when i asked them why they said its bacuase my warrenty had expired on the 22nd August When i sent the laptop to them mid july it was in working condiotion as i was using it daily. Now, with it being out of warrenty if acer refuse to admit fault for damaging my laptop and say i have to pay for the repair's what would be by best move to make sure i dont have to foot the bill for there incompetent engineers??

Whatever you do keep calm, contact them in writing (and email as well) explaining the situation and what has happened. Set it all out giving all the dates.
Depending on how insistent they were when you contacted them (is it a genuine misunderstanding... or someone seeing the date... out of warranty) make it clear that you will seek redress via legal action. I can't see it coming to that... scan and email any paperwork with dates on it to them and back it up in writing.
