ive had this installed for a week now and i must say im really happy with the upgrade

overall the laptop seems more responsive and is a lot quicker installing programs and games

the night before i received my new drive i installed vista on my old slower drive and it took approx 1 hour

on the new drive it took appox 45mins

also boot up seems a lot quicker at just 47 secs

ive just ran pc mark 05 and there is a big jump in performance over the old drive

    before: 4482 ,after:5211

so all in all a worthwhile upgrade for anyone whos thinking about it!

What did you use to transfer all of the information over to the new Hard Drive, and did the hiddden recovery partition get moved over as well.

i just put the drive in and used the acer disks i made and it formatted and installed vista

i bought a caddy for the drive that was in there and moved all my media files back to my computer

yeh patrick it is a bit pricey but i think its worth it

its like putting a faster processor in and more ram

i think the old drive was holding all the other components back as everything is faster now

This maybe be a stupid question, but is it possible to replace the HD on 5920G with a SSD drive in the future? Perhaps when SSD goes down in price.
