    how do i format d drive on acer aspire 6920g?

    ok, i formatted like a week ago from pqservice by presing alt+f10 in acer boot up screen, anyways leave the d drive blank...how do i format the d drive so its 100% clean.?
    there is like 20gs left on this drive yet everything is removed help?

    In any case, Computer management console. Right click, format.

    Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Managment>Disk Management

    Right click on D: and it will give you some options, format should be there.

    If it won't let you then you would need to use a third party disk management tools such as acronis disk director suite, or partition magic.

    hmmmm i have no programs on it yet there is 20 gbs on it can any explain this and also i did try that format but it said there is some applications on my drive being used and virus scanned early with mcafee so im guesing its not some virus, how could i view these hidden files? and if formatted the d drive would it f up my computer?

    Have you saved anything on to the drive, anyhow, to unhide files go to:

    Control Panel>Folder Options>View, then under hidden files and folders unhide them.

    ummm i did do hide hidden folders and such but its still 20gbs taken up and click d drive and its not empty.

    It might be system restore information. If you have Vista Ultimate, it could also be shadow copies of your documents.
    Otherwise, I got nothing.

    i have vista 32bit :D home premium......i really want to remove those 20 gbs of crap on my hardrive that i cannot even see!
    what happen if id id format it while windows says something is useing it?

    You could look in the task manager for a program that lies there

    To format, why don't you just right-click the drive and choose Format.
