    Hello all.
I have an Aspire 5920 and I tried to add/enable the VT-x in the bios of my laptop using the thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/465936-acer-laptop-phoenix-bios-enable-virtualization-test-machine-acer-aspire-9420-a.html.

Updated the bios with the one from the thread:
    Aspire 5920/5920G
(Board Model ZD1, based on BIOS v1.3813)
    - added Intel VT-x menu
    - updated PXE Broadcom NetXtreme Ethernet Boot Agent (v9.4.5 --> v10.0.9)
    - updated SLIC v2.1
    - patched DSDT table (only CPU Core fix, RTC, HPET)
    - fixed a lot wrong BIOS information
    - changed a lot descriptions/dialogs and some help information
    - changed/increased Bios version to v1.3833

    But no joy :( .
    No VT-x shows.
Can someone help me with this?
    Many thanks 4 all.

What processor do you have? Not all processors have virtualization.

T5xxx series doesn't support VT. Otherwise, Kizwan's mod (and by consequence, my MXM mod based on it) will enable VT once a supported CPU is installed.

I have exactly the same problem: aspire 5920 (not 5920G) and those mods are not working for me .. .NetRoller, I think you are wrong. I ran securable, and it confirms that virtualization has been blocked off in BIOS.

So, it does seem like they do support virtualization ..

    Any suggestions? ...

humfranco, anyone been back to you on this? How did you get on resolving this?

info on the cpu, no VT-x
    Intel® Core?2 Duo Processor T5450 (2M Cache, 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB))

just because securable says the VT is blocked off in the bios doesnt mean the cpu supports it, acer have it turned off in most of there bios`s
even if the cpu supports it

@goondaba: The mods merely gives you a Setup option controlling VT; you need to enable it manually in Setup before you can use VT.
