    Hello,

I'd like my ACER laptop to either
    1) switch on directly when power plug is plugged in (no battery), preferably, or
    2) have a second power switch... ~15cm away from the power control pannel

    any hint?

For the small history I flipped the laptop screen and enclosed my Aspire 3613 in a frame to make a mediacenter. Works fine, DVD is still accessible, but keyboard and power switch not anymore.

Not really an issue for the keyboard but quite a pitty for power switch, which I'd like to by-pass completely if possible (kind of "always on" mode...) or duplicate in the frame edge.

    So, 2 questions:
    - is there any means of disabling the power switch, or at least make in power on automatically? (I could find nothing the current BIOS, and don't know about such MB jumper settings)
    - what kind of switch (electronic part) could I use to duplicate the existing switch... and to what pins should I solder it?

Thanks in advance for any help!
    Berteh.
