how to get password for recovery partition on aspire 5100

I got an aspire 5100 and the recovery to factory state is locked by a password. I tried a set by step using ubuntu but didn't work ( http://denerding.blogspot.com/2008/01/acer-e-recovery-passwords.html) so if anybody has gone through this process please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp thx

The default password is 000000.
