this thing makes a loud noise and know one responded to my thread concering my DVD-R :'(....sooo..since know one seemed to help on that one, I'll guess I have to do it on my own or call acer support . But how can i take this thing out so i can see if some screw is lose or there is some dents(How could there be dents who knows)I'd like to see the and were they are located...i'll probably be ended calling support with my dad, Hes another thing. Some CD's it makes no noise, and its always working with those CD's. Other CD's make hella lotta noise...this is a werid conclusion but I THINK DVD's make no noise, and CD's make noise, now not just Music CD's but i mea CD's with 700m not 4 gb like DVD's.

CDs reads faster than DVD. Maybe it's normal.

Well, there is a pretty simple way to do it.
There is ONE screw keeping the optical drive in - it's on the bottom of the notebook, below the battery and to the left of the CPU/GPU/RAM/HDD cover (there's three there, it's the middle one).
Unscrew that, and you can just pop and slide out the optical drive.

Maybe it's normal, I've had(and currently have one) some very loud ODDs. My current external DVD-RW is great, never had a single problem with it, but it sounds like a race car.
