i bought an Acer Aspire 5739 just about a 5months ago .
i was planning about playing online games like world of warcraft online on it .
But it was the mistake of my life . Really , this laptop sucks in my opinion .
even if it has high system setting like 1gb Nvidia geForce and 2.8Ghz intel core 2 duo . These settings are to powerful for it cause everytime i try to play something or do something , my laptop starts to heat and closes itself .
I can't even believe that my 7year old desktop computer is better than it .
my desktop isn't even half of it !
and don't even try to talk about sending to technical service or any updates , fan repair or something .
i sen't it to service like 3 times and they still saying theres nothing wrong about it , just few updates and other things .
it really sucks .
i hate my computer .
People say it's a problem about Acer . And if you mind buying an Acer , don't even think about it . It will be the mistake of your life .
i hate acer and it's technical service or support ( doesn't matter ) .
Acer is not a company for LAPTOP .
Just stop selling people bunch of useless laptops .
i hate to write those things from an Acer , and i hope i'll buy a new computer soon .
So goodbye everyone .
Be carefull when you buying Acer , think twice .

To each his own, bro. Acer, like all other brands, has higher-level laptops and lower-level laptops, with the latter being more prone to failure.
Also, what Nvidia video card are you talking about? It could be one of the infamous "defective" batch some time ago which caused grief in people who bought consumer-level gaming laptops during that period of time.
You've not given enough detail in order to convince anyone that Acer sucks, just so you know. -

Are you using it on a flat surface?
-
Your statement doesn't make any sense because your Acer Aspire 5739 laptop came out in the market around November 4th, 2009. 5 months ago... even a year ago, most new laptops came with Core i series processors starting January 7th, 2010.
Your laptop has a Core2Duo and is over a year old now...
Sorry to say this, but it sounds like you brought a used or refurbished laptop and is blaming Acer for your own mistake (of purchasing an older & probably defective unit). -
Is it harmful to use laptops on a flat surface?
If so, what is a gadget to lift them up from the surface a little? a laptop cooler? -
they should be used on flat surfaces.
If you put them on a bed e.g. the bedsheets can clog up the vents causing it to heat -
Where is this thread heading?
Somewhere between venting frustrations and flat surfaces you got me lost.
Closed.
