ok im concluding that its because of the epower software. but i cant even open that. grr
-
well.. i just system restored my computer so all problems solved.
-
just a question but did you happen to go into msconfig and shut that service off at startup because the same happened to me then i turned it back on and all was fine. sorry i know its a little late but thats what happened to me.
and also an easier method would have been downloading ti from the website and reinstalling it. but i guess restoring works too
sorry i couldnt help earlier.

I experienced the same thing after I did a Recovery Install. I solved the problem letting the laptop SCANDISK after I pulled the AC & Battery out.
-
its acting wierd, i used the backup discs. it used to work but acer empowering blah blah blah just likes to stop working.
-
you can try going to the acer driver site and downloading it from there. and reinstalling just that.
-
does Acer Empowering Framework = Acer empowering technology? -
what does letting the laptop scandisk mean?
EDIT**I unistalled empowering technology which pretty much uninstalled everything except for erecovery. i think i like it without that junk on my notebook. ill just use XP to adjust my power setttings and stuff.
is it fine that i do this? -
It wont let u acess the power management system w/o it i think. Im not too sure. However, Im experimenting with it. I think that installing betas (such as IE7 RC1) could cause people to loose their eTechnology. Maybe its windows update, though that is something that needs to be done. Anyone with any info on this problem please PM me to try to solve it. I've already system restored 3 times because I keep losing the eTechnology apps. I really need them for the recovery, power management applications.
-
i think you're right. I have IE7 RC1 installed and I believe it does mess it up.
I'm happy without my eTechnology so far. Only thing i can't really do is adjust CPU power. -
i also have IE7 RC1 installed, and it caused empowering software to not function
i have to uninstall the eperformance for power management and others to work -
Whats the best way to recover the empowering software. It seems to be working in the background but just wont become visible. Will uninstalling IE7 bring it back?
-
IE7RC1 does indeed appear to be the cause of the Empowering suite failure.
An uninstall of the offending app will bring empowering back up to operational.
Luckily I use Opera as my main browser, so IE7 wont be missed.
Word.
i cant get into my power management
