    installing modded nvidia drivers for 5920

    right folks i want to overclock my gpu but not sure which driver revision to use

    i tried copying and pasting the modded inf file into the downloaded nvidia driver folder and installed it but my games wouldnt play properley,.....kept crashing to desktop

    just wondered if someone would do a little guide so im not doing something wrong :) ....cheers

    Personally, I recommend the 158.45's from laptopvideo2go.

    Once you have downloaded the file and replaced it with the modded inf, you should be able to run the games fine. the 158.45's are well-known to be stable compared to a majority of others.

    Once you have done that, to overclock, I recommend riva tuner, but go easy on the overclocking, I have clocked my gpu at 650/500 stable.

    i now have the driver installed but some of the games wont play i.e. crash to desktop

    ....and when i try play far cry the graphics are like im playing in a mist

    I had no issues with 158.45

    BTW I never try Farcry...old game .

    I've tried MANY modded drivers, as well as the Acer Display drivers, none of them run far cry, I get the mist problem too.

    I agree with 158.45, they allow the computer to utilise standby/hibernate properly.

    im trying to get fahrenheit to run ....used the vista fix on GCW and it installs and works till i install my logitec rumblepack 2 joypad! and THEN starts crashin to desktop ARGHHHH!

    i had the mist problem on call of duty 2 till i reduced the shadow quality then it worked fine!

    .....i thought vista was supposed to be this great gaming platform but its nothing but a bag of spanners to put it nicely!
