I have aspire 6920 and I love the features this computer has but I am not very happy with vista. Can I install xp pro? I know that deleting the pq service partition is not wise but I would rather have xp pro. How do I delete pq service? Also, is this action reversible? If I can install xp can I ever go back to the manufacturer OS? I have created the restore cd's but will they work without the pq service partition. Please advice. Thanks.

You can dual boot them but not easily (requires a hack of your MBR to do so).

My advice is if you are sick of vista then do the followin.

    1. Download and install acronis true image - www.acronis.com
    2. Make a FULL BACKUP OF YOUR ENTIRE HDD (all partitions)
    3. Burn the backup to DVD and store it in a safe place
    3. Wipe the drive with a tool such as dban - http://www.dban.org/
    4. Reinstall windows XP, don't forget you need to have a full oem or retail license to do so (I do not endorse piracy)
    5. Search for XP drivers for your model and slip in needed sata drivers - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=297338 (don't forget that you need to slip the drivers into the disk OR you need to manually insert them with a floppy disk during the F6 boot screen while loading off the disk)
    6. Beyond that you need to find the actual drivers for the model, if Acer does not supply them you will need to manually track them down based off your hardware (Broadcom Network adapter? Go to broadcom's site to download the drivers) Same thing applies to the chpiset / audio / video / etc.

Post here if you need further help. And as always.... google is your friend so please us it ;)
