hi, i've been searching the internet, mainly notebookreview.com for a couple of days now, and i've figured that the 5920g is the one of the best bang-for-buck notebook available. however, i've noticed that it has been available since may, about 2-3 months ago, and was wondering if anyone has any idea if acer is coming out with a new series/model soon?

i'm afraid of purchasing the 5920 this week (or next), only to find out that acer will be releasing a new model that supercedes it.

    thanks!

No. I have never heard of a notebook company releasing a notebook and then release another one that renders the older one obsolete in a matter of 3-4 months, nobody would dare to buy their products.

Well if you think about the 5920 series as a bunch of seperate models with seperate specs then yes.

For example in a few months time, they may add 3G capabilities to their current line, or add a tv tuner. But the chassis will be around for a long time.

Still you gotta expect HD2600XT notebook from Acer some time soon.
And this GPU seems to be faster that 8600M GT (slower that 8700 though)

darkspark88, yep.. actually that was what i meant.. =p

does anybody have 'inside' or 'upcoming' information whether acer will be upgrading the 5920g anytime soon? =x

my main quirks with the Aspire 5920G-302G16N model is the WXGA screen, which i wouldn't mind paying more for a WXGA+..

Yeah I'd like to know as well cuz every configuration of the 5920G I've seen is a 1280x800.
