my 5672 with x1600 works great and yes it gets warm after heavy gaming, but its not a scorcher by any means. Oh and yes return it and buy the x1600 version from newegg.

i do not play games. i used, acid, vegas audit. I want the pc for music an videos. I like the sized 15.4 but is it worth it . or toshiba a105 4110 for 1100

if you don't like heat then don't go with Toshiba i could almost fry an egg on my father's toshiba satilite, allthough that might be a bad generalization, but for the most part what i see from toshibas is that they tend to heat up moreso than Acers.

Honestly, for the price that you paid for the laptop, nothing else is going to beat it. Gaming benchmark is giong to be better on the new 5672 but you said you don't game. Get a cooler, and use your notebook on solid flat surfaces. That helps air circulation quite a lot.

thanks , for all the replies. But , i have sent the lappy back. it's nice but the quality is no there. It looks that in not goging to last a year. nice features and all that fast but it's made up of a plastic wich seems that won't last

I've had my 5672 for 6 months and 7 days and it's still in fine condition. Mainly just a lot of dust, with a small bit or wear on the keyboard rest and ATI and Windows stickers.
I take the laptop between home and work every day.
The only physical issue is that the battery is loose. It's been like that since I've gotten it and it hasn't fallen out yet.
I am considering upgrading to Merom in this laptop, although I might wait until Santa Rosa notebooks are available. Had I waited 3 months or so for a laptop, I probably would have went with something else -- but this was literally the first Core Duo notebook I could buy (besides a Gateway which had an estimated shipping time of 2 weeks).
Since then, I've realized that I have no need for a wasteful dedicated graphics processor (considering that any Core Duo can handle 720p H264), which greatly increases the selection of laptops that I find suitable. -
yeah if you dont game at all or just casual gaming then the gpu wont matter much. I would say keep the acer as it is a great all around workhorse and on top of that it is pretty cheap. I use mine for intensive programing, heavy CADD, and gaming as well as the usual school work/surfing and it never let me down.

Oddly enough, I'm selling mine. I don't know why, but a friend of mine asked me if he could buy it from me, and if I were willing to let it go. I took him up on the offer. Getting a Sager 5750.
is it worth to keep the 5762 wmli for $999
