hello, my notebook just died and i wanted to know if i can fix it myself. heres what happend yesterday i was watching a movie while downloading songs. while the movie was playing, i went to take a quick washroom break. as i came back to my notebook the sound was running fine and it was running the movie but the screen was not. screen was frozen in place. i tried to move my mouse but screen was still frozen and i tried lots of other method. but in the end i had no choice to force shut it down by pressing power. so when i reached the button and pressed it lighty for 1 second, the whole notebook got shut down. to me that was surprising cause i usually needed to hold on to power for 10 seconds before it got shut down. anyway when i tried to turn it back on it didnt work. i was currently plugging the power supply with battery and it always showed me the 2 blue lights indicating me that. but this time it didnt so i opened my compto check if my mobowas fried but i couldnt find any fault i dont know what happend to my laptop my laptop model is aspire 5532 with tl 56 as cpu and 1gb ram since i broke my 2gb ra sorryif tis is messy and has a lots of typos since i wrote this using my phone

Remove main battery and AC power.

Press and hold power button for 20 seconds to discharge any capacitors and "reset" the logic.

Refit battery and connect AC power and try again.

Sounds like you have had problems if you have "broken the RAM".

I had to fix a similar issue on a Acer Aspire laptop (4535), this is what I did.

    - Downloaded latest bios from support.acer.com
    - Unzip and copy the DOS folder files (not the folder) to a FAT (not FAT32) formated USB thumbdrive.
    - Connect the USB device to an available USB port on your laptop.
    - Hold the FN and ESCAPE keys down.
    - Press the power button whilst still holding the keys.
    - Wait 20 seconds and release the keys (this will force the computer to load the new BIOS).
    - Leave the laptop until it powers off or up to 30 minutes (to make sure it flashes bios correctly).

Let us know if this solves your issue.

    Good Luck
