just bought it yesterday and don't want to deal with windows starter. I am trying to work within the 30 days store warranty in case any thing goes wrong.

I know the recovery menu is accessable through alt + F10 and that it occupies a partition on the harddrive. what I want to know is if installing linux would make it unable to recover windows 7 starter and therefore make it unreturnable if there's hardware failure during the 30 days. what if I do dual boot, will the recovery menu able to reset the partition table and restore it to factory mode?

also, what is a good linux distro for this netbook?
