I upgraded my acer extensa 4420 from hp to ultimate. Stupid of me. I google'd how to get acer erecovery to work (dont have a recovery CD and I am unable to use the acer erecovery on the empowering tech tool) I found several results and they dont work. I found a way to fix it on this site. I cant remember what post it is. One of the members said the following:

Disable acer d2d recovery in BIOs.
    Download and run partedit 32
change the partition value from 12 to 07
    restart you computer
find the MBRwrWin.exe and the rtmbr.bin files
    open cmd
    type in MBRwrWin install rtmbr.bin

I did all of that and cmd said: installing MBR..... Error while writing to rtmbr.bin

    HELP!!??!?
