1.Should I reformat right when I get the laptop? Will this be neccesary and will it boost my performance significantly?

    2. I hear right when you boot up it asks you to make a recovery cd, If I make one of these what exactly is on there? If I reformat with a regular windows xp disc can I put this one in and all the drivers will be installed with this? or do I have to download the drivers manually?

    3. Do I have to get drivers for every hardware peice after reformatting or only some pieces?

    thanks a lot.

    1. YES!!!
    2. All of the crap would be on the recovery CD, dont make it
    3. Yes, back up the ones you can see, and for the rest go to Acer's website, it should be fairly painless

I have always been interested in the 5672. What made you choose this model over others? Thanks
