    I just got an acer 5742, i3, win7home64. synaptics touchpad 7.2.

The trackpad becomes unresponsive for 0.5 seconds after each keystroke. For example, if I'm moving the pointer continously around the desktop, and i press a key, the pointer stops moving for 0.5 seconds.

I've looked in control panel Mouse and Keyboard. It seems like this is normal behavior but it's very annoying and I don't remember previous notebooks with this behavior.

    Can I haz solution plz?

Well the idea behind this is that you don't want unwanted mouse movement or clicks while typing. On my Acer it seems it disappeared after upgrading to the latest Synaptics drivers

Question: My keyboard and touchpad doesn't work at the same time. How do I fix this?

Answer: In the Synaptics software, lower the sensitivity for "PalmCheck".

Awesome, thanks guys. I changed PalmCheck to Minimum. I would have returned this notebook if I couldn't change that lol.
