I have a aspire 3690 running vista. The left side of the keyboard types fine. The right side some keys don't work other type multiple letters and preforms different action. I replaced the keyboard twice thinking i bought a faulty one but still have the same problem. If i use a external USB or the onscreen keyboard it works fine. I also flashed the bio and still no change. Any Ideas for i dont want to buy a new laptop.
Thanks Vinnie

have you checked the language settings in control panel
Open control panel>open regional and langauge options.
open langauges tab>text services and input langauges>details button.
check you have it set to the right region/ -
Everything is set to US. Any other ideas?
Thanks Vinnie -
Bad cable and/or connector might be causing this. Unfortunately I've no idea how can you test this..When you replace the keyboard I guess the new keyboard comes with cable? If so then maybe it's the connector..

Same for my brand new Extensa 4230... It works for a while, then it would stop working correctly and it doesn't go away by just restarting.
Only resting overnight solves it. Weird, frustrating and embarrasing.
Truly yours,

How do you reset it over night?
