I turned tv and laptop off plugged in the vga cable then switched back on appliances,on the tv I enabled the pc thing
and it came up with no signal...should I also have an audio cable??

Thanks for taking the time to explain:
1. Your TV has VGA and not S-Video?
2. Did you select the proper Input for your TV?
3. Did you extend/choose the TV as primary display? -
Thanks for response...Yes its definately vga.I also put it on proper input but as for last question I dont know??
-
Well, you need to tell the software to activate the TV. You can do that by extending your desktop on it or by choosing it as a primary display.
-
Thanks but how do I do that??Sorry I am not an expert with these gadgets....

You also need to make sure that the resolution being sent from the computer can be suported by the tv. for example. i have a sony bravia which can take various resolutions and an aspire laptop that can do resolutions so high that the bravia cannot support them. in instances like this the bravia will display the No Signal message.
you can setup the dualview, clone or extended desktop in the display properties in windows. just have to find the right tab. But it is definitely under display properties. i.e. right click on your desktop. -
. As the previous poster said, you have all the options needed in the video driver control panel.

Thanks for all your advice will try it out and if still no joy wil let you know....
