I've read conflicting reports on whether the max memory on this machine is 2GB..I chatted with someone who had installed 1 1gb stick and 1 2gb stick for total of 3gb..so i ordered a 2gb stick. when installed with one of the original 1GB sticks windows won't start. the 2GB stick is good because windows works fine with it alone. the new (2gb) stick is pc2 5300 667 mhz...the originals are 533mhz..could this be my problem..i thought it was backwards compatible bet all would run at 533...Also i realize that for dual channel they have to be the same size but i can't find a way to "turn off" dual channel...any suggestions...thanks

Make sure you install the latest BIOS for the system.

I loved my laptop but then i got this message "Fatal System Error Dumping Physical Memory" and it started doing stuff and then it turned off. Now when I turn it on it says "windows failed to start a recent hardware or software change might be the cause." and some other instructions and when I try to use the built in Acer eRecovery " alt f10 at startup screen" it just says that the winload.exe is missing. anyone have this problem because my dad is getting annoyed of me using his computer.
