Would like to upgrade my acer aspire 5020 from 512mb ram to 2gb (I understand that the system can handle this) would like to have info from anyone who has done this. First basic question is, is it a 200 pin or ?
Im sure that everyone can tell that Im a newby (but I am willing to learn) please go easy on me  Thanks to all.

I already answered your question in the other aspire 5020 thread, your 5020 uses 200pin DDR so-dimm ram. ( Note even though DDR2 also uses 200pins the two are NOT interchangeable.) However DDR ram is very expensive right now when compared to DDR2 so good luck finding a good 2Gb deal for so-dimm DDR ram. If it would help you at all take a look at the ram deals thread on the forum and see if you can find any deals.

Well, I don't understand why you started another thread either.
We usually read those threads and if you had been misinformed we would have corrected the information.
Anyways, if you need confirmation- as already stated above- DDR so-dimm up to DDR400. I have one 1GB Kingston KVR400X64SC3A CL3.
Works fine but it's still CL3 and costs some 90€.

EDIT: I use it in Aspire 5024.
