Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 1804. It has an Inprocomm IPN 2220 Wireless lan adapter (rev 01). Can be a bit of a prob getting it to work in Windows because of the number of drivers that are available. In Linux it requires Ndiswrapper. Other than that it works extremely well.
I decided to replace it with a BCM 4318, which is recognised as an Airport card. However, there is a slight prob in that it doesn't power up. I have tried it under Win7 and that recognises it, installs the correct driver, but again no power.
I believe that if a certain pin is covered with tape it will power up.
So, is there anyone with this info who could enlighten me as to which pin to tape?
Or any other advice that will get it going.
All help as always greatly appreciated,
    regards,
    Eddie.
