    modem connection problems

    i have a problem with my modem on my aspire 5024.the problem is that when i make a connection after 3-5 minutes i'm disconnected.sometimes i've been connected for over a half hour ,but usualy the limit is 3-5 min..i want to ask if anyone has the same problem and if there is a solution.thanks a lot

    it s possible that it s not a modem fault but, the modem on my 5024 was changed even before I bought it..so it was cheaper...it was one whole serie of these notebooks...bt it was here in Czech Republlic i dont know it was in other countries too..maybe your modem is really s*** ...anyway, dont use dial up...thats useless todaY :)

    It could be a hardware issue, but try a few other dial-up numbers to be sure it's not the line you're connecting to.
