    Has anyone here tried to contact Acer in regards to this problem yet? I'm curious as to what they have to say about it.

    You should embark like a man on mission and give them a buzz yourself. =D

    I chatted with Dell earlier today, I imagine the response will all be the same...chances are the techs know little about this issue and will just tell you to extend your warranty. From what I've seen it's a problem, but it's not like tens of thousands of laptops are going to explode any minute now.
