Im at my wits end trying to get this figured out and im too tired to search right now so please forgive me. Here is the issue...

I did a clean install of Windows XP on my acer aspire 5610(came with Vista of course) and have been installing drivers all night. It came time for me to install the ethernet controller and it wont recognize. Has anyone here downgraded to XP and had this problem?

The ethernet has to do with the LAN right? according to Acer the driver should be from Broadcom. Ive tried a couple different drivers but when i go into device manager to install it i get this...

"The wizard could not find the software on your computer for ethernet controller"

Someone please help me... this is my mother-in-law's laptop and it was in need of the clean install.

While im at it i also need "modem device on high definition audio bus"

help with that would be great too.
