ok...i have an acer aspire 5052...my prob is also regarding the heat issues...my hd temp shows 42c and temp1 shows 62c....i am not that much of a comp geek and hence i don't quite get the ways of solving the heat prob as shown in the 5672 thread...i want to know whether there is an easy and effective way of reducing the heat..???

You might want to read the Cooling Guide we have here. Also 42C for a hard drive is a little warm, but not bad. That 62C is probably for the processor, which is actually fairly average.

Yeh as night_2004 these temperatures REALLY aren't bad. Don't worry about it mate. If temp1 (probably the CPU) gets to 82 and above then you need to start worrying. Actually you'd probably need to do something at 70. If you position a desktop fan by the side of your laptop while your not using it, this is a cheap way of cooling without actually going inside your computer - it's what I did until my water cooler arrived.....
