    I have the Acer Aspire 5672 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834115246)

and this thing gets pretty warm. The built-in cooling fan comes on often... and I would like to purchase a cooling pad to cool this baby down.

The dimensions are roughly 14" by 10.5". I would like to purchase one thats near those dimensions... and I would like to have a cooler that sits on mylap as well... (I've seen some that rest on hard surfaces only... I don't want those).

I've looked at the ones on newegg, but most have bad reviews and are not large enough.

Anyone know of a good brand that would fit my laptop size? Thanks!

I've been looking for the same thing. I've checked most of the ones on Newegg that had decent/good reviews, but they all seem to be significantly smaller than the 5672 :(

... I went through the gigantic 5672 thread and found out that someone recomended the antec notebook cooler.

Its $30 or so on ebay... may get it, unless others know of a better one.

You might want to consider this feature at available notebook coolers. I prefer one with a plugged in power adapter as USB powered units draws power from your battery or adds load to system (especially Dual Core systems).

in my experience cooling pads are ineffective for the problems caused by heat from hard drive, ram and wifi antenna.

update: if you can get a cooling fan to sit near the ram/hard drive/wifi antenna then it does dissipate the heat and you can save your fingers from getting scolded from the touchpad!
